Anchors · lifelines · permanent access
Anchor points and lifeline systems
We install fixed anchors and lifelines on roofs, façades and structures so that maintenance teams are protected every time they go up, not just on the first visit.
Scope of work
- Single anchor points on concrete, steel or profiled sheet
- Horizontal lifelines on roofs and canopies
- Fixing to the instructions of the chosen system’s manufacturer
- Sealing penetrations through the roof covering
- Layout drawing showing the installed anchor positions
Worth knowing
An anchor system is only as good as what it is fixed to. On lightweight roofs or older structures, a specialist checks the substrate capacity before installation.
The periodic inspections required by the manufacturer still apply after installation; we can include them in a maintenance contract.
How the job runs
-
Access routes
We map where maintenance works: gutters, HVAC units, rooflights, edges.
-
System selection
We propose the anchor type suited to the substrate, based on the manufacturer’s documentation.
-
Installation
We install and seal while working off temporary anchors.
-
Documentation
We hand over the layout sketch and the system documents supplied by the manufacturer.
Rope access, scaffold or crane?
We choose the method after the site visit. If a scaffold or a MEWP suits your job better, the quote will say so.
| Criterion | Rope access | Scaffold | Crane / MEWP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobilisation time | hours, once the plan is approved | days to erect and strike | depends on plant and permits |
| Reach into tight areas | good: interiors, façades, steelwork | limited by building geometry | limited by boom reach |
| Ground footprint | minimal, exclusion zone only | for the whole job | outriggers and a cordon |
| Impact on operations | low, work runs section by section | high around the scaffold | medium, with traffic restrictions |
What helps us quote
- Type of roof or substrate (concrete, profiled sheet, membrane)
- Roof plan showing the plant on it
- Areas that are visited regularly
- Preferred system, if you already use one

Frequently asked questions
How is the price set if you do not publish rates?
It depends on the number of anchors or the length of lifeline, the substrate, the system chosen and the sealing required. Equipment is shown separately from labour in the quote.
Which systems do you install?
Systems from manufacturers that supply installation instructions and conformity documents. The choice depends on the substrate and on how the system will be used.
Does a lifeline replace a guardrail?
Not necessarily. Collective protection such as guardrails takes priority where it can be fitted; a lifeline is used where collective protection is not possible.
Can you check an existing system?
We can carry out a visual inspection with a photo report. The formal periodic inspection follows the system manufacturer’s requirements.
